5 Stars I dont know what the last guy doing
when you install this memory, you’re suppose to install only one stick then when you got the system running you added the other. I have a 790i NVGA board, 2.66 9450 Processor, 3 x 500G Seagate HD, and a 9800 GX2 XXX card. I got it 3.0 overclocked without any stress.

Must set voltage @ 1.9v to get system to boot up! Also, loosening the timings helps @ 1800 mhz and up. Not bad RAm, you just need to know what your doing and you’ll be stress free.

Bought 4 sticks of this for my new 790i Ultra motherboard and got nothing but memory errors. Windows will not load and system hangs with this memory installed. Check for compatibility with you motherboard vendor, don’t trust the memory manufacturer.

5 Stars LOVE THIS ITEM!!!
This is the best radio by far. I love how easy it is to use, the look of the system and the features. The only downside would be is the reception isn’t always that great. If you want the top of the line in your car or at home look no further.

3 Stars Gave it 12v and it burned up
I attempted to hard wire the unit into my vehicle wiring. The tech specs clearly state input voltage 10-16v. Hard wiring means you don’t use the 12v plug BTW. I powered up and the unit worked but got very hot. I cut the power but it was too late. After burning this up, I read online that Sirius receivers take 5v input. This was not stated ANYWHERE in the manual.

I think it would have been a nice product had the instructions not been so disastrously misleading. I think it’s very odd for a unit designed for vehicles to take anything other than 12 volts.

1 Star Service Great, Company the Worst
I’m now in my 4th year with Sirius. As far as the radio and the daily service, it is absolutely awesome. You will not want to return to regular radio again after a couple days of Sirius. The hardware and product they give you daily is phenomenal.

That being said, dealing with the company itself, specifically over the phone, is an absolute nightmare. The utter incompetence of most of the customer service people is staggering. I’d say the average I.Q. is around 25. Harsh, but it is what it is.

Three of my four years with Sirius, I have been lucky enough where I’ve had family/friends want to pay for my yearly subscription as a Birthday/Christmas present. The first time a family member called Sirius, paid for the year with his credit card, and we thought it was set. His credit card was double charged, and at the beginning of January when my plan renews, I was also charged. We both called Sirius and the issue was not resolved for more than a week.

The second issue was a similar issue. A family member called Sirius, provided a credit card, and paid for the year. Once again, a few days into January $150+ was withdrawn from my checking account (renewal price). Not happy again, we had to haggle over the phone for a few days to get it rectified.

This brings me to this year. A friend and a family member wanted to pay for my subscription. They both contacted Sirius and asked if there were Gift Cards or Certificates that could be used towards the subscription. Obviously b/c of past issues. Both were told by Sirius operators that the easiest way was to purchase Egift Certificates, which are sent directly to the recipients email with a code to redeem them. That was what they did.

On December 30th I went to redeem them. Problem is they are only good towards Sirius hardware and cannot be used for subscriptions. I called Sirius to take issue. I was disconnected by the first two associates, the third was yawning into the phone, and finally the fourth try I got someone who could help. The associate told me I could use the Egift credits and buy Gift Cards from the Sirius shop and have them sent to me. I stated that my account was set to renew in a few days and this would be a problem. He assured me it wouldn’t be, and transferred me to customer care.

At customer care, I spoke with an associate who assured me my account would be frozen, it would go into invoice billing, and I simply had to just wait for the Gift Cards to arrive in the mail. I had a bad feeling but decided to go that route. A week later the Gift Cards arrived.

Before I called Sirius back to redeem them, I checked my checking account. Sure enough once again Sirius charged me already for the yearly renewal. Problem this time, I had just paid a bunch of bills out of my checking and it overdrafted my account. I was furious and called Sirius once again. They admitted fault initially, but then began to change their stance and stated that I never had the Sirius account frozen. Luckily I document everyone I speak to. Sirius even refused initially to refund the overdraft fees from the bank. I finally spoke with a supervisor who agreed to refund the fees and subscription price. To rub extra salt in the wounds, it will take 7-10 days, my checking account is now frozen, and I have no way to use it right now. To top it all off, I still never got an apology from Sirius. So to put it simply, don’t ask for your subscription to be paid for as a gift, and avoid dealing with Sirius directly. It is nothing but a hassle that probably will cost you days of problems. This might actually be my last year with them because of this. Good luck if you have to deal with them.

I bought the Stilleto 2 Vehicle kit and had it professionally installed. With the addition of the direct power it is a nice looking unit which functions very well.

The buttons are easy to see and use and remote control is a nice addition. My installation looks very professional and for less that $50 its a great deal.

I was looking for a pantone color guide for my graphic design business, and I have been very pleased with this one. It shows the PMS, CMYK, RGB and HTML codes for each color featured in the book, as well as the difference in color between PMS and Process. 1 Star GREAT WHAT? RESTART/RE-ADD ADMIN/PASS EVERY 3 DAYS – PASS! AVOID!
OK, after 2 months use, it is going up for sale. Does it work, yes. Is it easy to setup, no. But being a tech/admin, you get used to flaky products, and Linksys makes many (i.e. most of their network cards encryted only work with their routers).

Why i sold: EVERY 2-3 days you will need to unplug from outlet and let startup again. Or if that does not do it, the flaky software will forget the admin/password you ‘saved’ and you will have to go into setup and add, yet again, every 2-3 days. Better not put this somewhere you can’t get too to unplug every 2-3 days, sad, as I was going to put in a attic window….would have never worked!

Avoid Linksys. I sold all my Linksys routers/cards years ago, and I just didnt learn my lesson then.

4 Stars works well with IE and Firefox (w/o sound)
This camera does everything it claims to do (see linksys website) and worked well for me out of the box. Granted, I’m a computer science (CS) guy, but after assigning a static IP address to the camera it has performed beautifully without any complicated setup (i.e. you don’t need a CS degree to set this thing up). We currently use it to watch our infant son while he sleeps using my wife’s ubuntu/linux operating system (OS) netbook (Asus EEE). That said, it is meant to be used with a windows OS, but we’ve been able to see its video feed using Firefox/3.0.10. Firefox doesn’t pick up the audio feed, unlike internet explorer (IE), but for us the video was most important. All in all, it is a solid camera (for the price), and it’s wireless functionality is flawless.

Of note: I took off one star because it didn’t provide full functionality with Firefox.

I held off buying a webcam because of all the problems I read about. Went with Linksys because my router is a Linksys. Amazingly, this webcam worked out of the box. I used the CD it came with and the camera is now working wired or wireless. I like it.

3 Stars Good camera, but wish it would pick up wireless signal better
I bought this camera to see who was at the front door of my house. The only place to put it was from a window with a view of the front door. The distance from the wireless antenna to the camera is not that far, about 50 feet. Unfortunately, the signal needs to go through 4 or 5 walls to get there. The camera just does not pick up the signal. It’s a B network, so distance should be good even if speed is slower. I can get a signal on a laptop at that spot that’s low, but good enough to stream a Google or You Tube video.

I tried making one of those Wind Surfer antenna booster. I was surprised. It really did boost the signal, but still not enough for the camera.

I kept the camera and put it in a window to the front of the house so I can at least see the front (“Hey, the newspaper is in the driveway.”). I might try some more signal boosting a some point. And it really is a pretty good value. All the stuff about easy set up is true, and assigning a static IP works so I’ve never had to do the on/off thing to get it working when a connection gets lost. And yeah, sensor stuff is really for inside. Too much motion out there. It will send you a boatload of email.

The software that lets you have a bunch of cameras is kind of cool. You can get that bank of cameras look on your PC, and you can play command central. Silly, I know. But I’m probably going to get another camera at some point to point somewhere else.

5 Stars Good quality, easy setup even for Mac users
I got this working in 15 mins on my iMac. Follow the steps from the earlier reviewer: basically plug it in “wired”, get its IP address from your wireless router DHCP table (or guess it; it could well be 1+the current highest IP assigned to your PC/printer/etc), go to that URL in a web browser, use default login pwd “admin”, enter your WiFi details, change default pwd, unplug from Ethernet, power cycle, and you’re done!

Quality is slightly higher than my iMac’s built-in camera. Make sure to set a static IP in its web browser admin page once you have it working, as the camera renews its lease every few hours and you may then think it has “frozen” if you’re still using the old IP.

I configured EvoCam using both the Linksys camera in conjunction with the iMac’s built-in camera to get coverage of 2 rooms. I haven’t tried the s/w that came with the Linksys camera, as EvoCam handles the web publishing piece.

1 Star Poor Verbatim
I am sorry to see Verbatim sink to such a low level. I have used many spindles of what I thought were the same Verbatim quality as the disks listed here. Such is not the case!! The first 12 disks burned would not play on either of 2 DVD players (though the burner pgm indicated that the burn was successful). I contacted Verbatim and was requested to send the disks to Verbatim for examination. Got replacement(??) disks from Verbatim 2 weeks later. How sorry I was, that after inserting 5 (one-at-a-time) replacement disk and closing the disk drawer, within seconds the drawer kicked back out and a window wanted a “blank disk inserted”. I regret that I can give this product no stars, though 1 is requiored. I hope Verbatim can re-coop it’s prior quality!!

5 Stars Verbatim DVDs always work!
I am a retired electronics engineer, and I use only Verbatim DVD blanks. After trying about 20 brands of DVD blanks over the past 5 years, I found that Verbatim was the only brand that always worked in all DVD players. Some were good for one player, others for another player, but Verbatim has worked in everything. I make hundreds of DVDs for my church, so many different players have been tried, and I have never heard of one that did not play. They are so reliable I don’t even check them to see if they work! I print on them with my inexpensive Epson Stylus R200 printer, and the result looks very professional. Earlier, I found that DVDs with labels degraded over a period of months or years; that took about four years to figure out. These hub-printables allow me to use photos or frames captured from the video without so much concern for the part left out of the picture. They cost a little more, but they are really worth the price.
